They're 100% compostable and can be composted at home, in industrial composters or sent back to us and we'll get back to Pela to make more Pela cases. Each case is made from flax shive and a plant-based biopolymer. They are certified compostable to US and EU standards. In home compost Pela will fully compost in 6 months to 3 years, depending on the conditions. Pela is also a member of 1% for The Planet donating money to worthwhile environmental causes.
