Flora & Fauna’s Mission To Reduce Waste
Here at F&F we view what we do, as a platform for purpose. We want the world to be a kinder and healthier place and we want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. We're here to drive change.
To do this, we find products and solutions that are better....better for us, better for animals and better for the planet. As such, everything is vegan, ethically sourced, cruelty-free and low impact. So far we’ve saved about 30 tonnes of plastic packaging. In fact not only do we focus on our carbon footprint, we launched an initiative to help other retailers and other businesses use better packaging too — you can read more about it here!
As Zac mentioned, “every product we have, helps reduce waste in some way, is a better choice for the environment and is sourced to ensure fair wages and working conditions.”

Behind The Scenes | What Happened On The Day
It’s not every day you get the opportunity to have someone with a huge influence and similar values, to help share your mission — so our team was super excited to hear the news!
The day of filming was really like a regular work day for our team. We all set up at our work packing stations, popped in eco goodies, wrote our handwritten notes and taped the boxes ready for shipping. The only thing that was different were the cameras. To our excitement we truly felt like extras that day.
Julie, our Founder, was the star of the show. She gave Zac and Darin a tour of our warehouse, talked about our huge range of vegan and eco-friendly products and the benefits it has on the environment, to us and to animals. The whole filming process was a really natural process and we are so happy to see how well it came together. We even saw Zac and Darin make and pack some boxes along with a handwritten note. Someone out there would have been lucky enough to have received it.

Products Featured In The Show
In the show, Julie leads the way, giving Zac and Darin a tour of our warehouse.
The first product she introduces to Darin and Zac are our Ethique Shampoo Bars. If you’ve already used these bars, you’ll know how great they are! If you haven’t, let us tell you why you should make the switch. First and foremost, there’s no waste! Ethique’s packaging is plastic free and can either be composted at home or recycled. Each bar is equivalent to 3 bottles of liquid shampoo and a little bit goes a long way. Plus they smell great. Julie then goes on to explain our the Ethique Concentrates work, you can watch our video above to see how they work! To date, Ethique has stopped over 3.3 million plastic bottles being made and ending up in landfill. How great is that?
Johnny Condoms was another highlighted product, which is great because not a lot of people know that vegan condoms exist — so it’s amazing to create that awareness.
In the final scene we see Zac and Darin pick up some goodies of their own, this included Viva La Body Shampoo Bar, Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies, Vegan Chocolate, Bryteka Pottery Reusable Coffee Cups and a few other lovely eco goodies too!
We are absolutely thrilled to have been apart of the ‘waste’ episode — a mission we hold so close to our heart. We hope you enjoy the episode, leave your comments below!
