In this guide, we're showing you 6 easy swaps to help make your home more sustainable. From daily items needed in the kitchen, to beauty and hair, even your fave teas. Follow along!
Sustainable Dish Brushes
There's no hiding the fact that dishes are a task that needs doing everyday, so why not make it sustainable?
Unlike sustainable dish brushes, plastic sponges aren't made to last. In fact, on average, a plastic sponge will last you just 2 weeks. So just imagine the amount of waste you're contributing to landfill. Our sustainable dish brushes on the other hand, not only last you longer, they're more durable for those tough stains and are simply better for the planet.
We love the Coconut Fibre Dish Brush! It provides a great clean and is made from bamboo and beech, meaning the handle, head, bristles and packaging are compostable. The Veggie Round is also a great compostable option. Our coco fibre dish brushes from Green + Kind and Eco Max, are biodegradable and perform a strong scrub on tough stains too.

Biodegradable Bin Liners
Bin liners are another household staple - our rubbish has to go somewhere right? So what if we told you there was something that works exactly the same as plastic bin liners, but only isn't plastic? You'd make the switch immediately!
So say goodbye to plastic and hello to our Biodegradable Bin Liners! BioBag's Bin Liners are made using sustainably sourced plant starch and as such compost in a well-functioning composting environment just like any other plant will. They also have Compostable Carry Bag's, which are ideal for supermarkets, farmers markets and restaurants. These bags are made from corn starch and can be composted with food waste. For your furry friends, we even offer Compostable Dog Waste Bags in replacement of plastic!

Gentle Dish Liquid
What we choose to wash our dishes with, is a bit like choosing what to wash our skin with. We want to be sure there are clean ingredients with no chemicals or nasties. That's why making the switch to clean and gentle dish liquid can make all the difference. For starters, it's perfect for those people with sensitive skin or allergies and you don't have to loose out on quality - our dish liquids here at F&F are tough on grease too!
Most dish liquids you see at your local supermarket shelves contain nasties and are made using plastic. Our packaging is recyclable and refillable! Choose between brands like Ecostore, Koala Eco, SimplyClean, Euclove and Resparkle.

Loose Leaf Tea Leaves & Compostable Tea Bags
Whether you're having your cuppa in the morning, afternoon or night, making the switch to sustainable tea alternatives is the planet-friendly choice. Here at F&F, we sell Loose Leaf Tea Leaves to avoid any unnecessary packaging. The tea leaves from Golden Wattle are packed in a recyclable round cardboard container and compostable/biodegradable cellulose.
If you however, can't grip your head around the concept of giving up tea bags, that's okay! We sell Compostable Tea Bags, which means when you've finished using your bag, you can simply pop it in your compost bin to break down.
Unlike most store bought tea items, our tea range is 100% organic, natural, pure and simple. They don't rely on adding any synthetic farm pesticides or herbicides. A win!

Plastic-Free Lip Balm
There's nothing we hate more than dry, flaky chapped lips - so you don't have to give up lip balm to help the planet, simply make the switch to plastic-free alternatives!
Noosa Basics, Ethique and Raw Nature are our Compostable Lip Balm faves! These lip balms leave absolutely zero-waste and can be composted in your house compost.
There are so many nice-smelling lip balms to choose from and if you're wanting an added pop to your lips, we recommend trying the Pink Blush Lip and Cheek Tint.

Plastic-Free Hair Ties
Whilst a plastic hair tie seems little and insignificant, you'd be surprised to know, they take 400 years to break down! That's why making the switch to plastic-free hair ties is the smart choice and Kooshoo has you covered! Kooshoo's Hair Accessories are made with renewable, plant-based materials including fairtrade certified organic cotton and natural rubber. They come in colours to match your hair, or bright and colourful colours to help you stand out.
These hair ties work even better than plastic ones, as they are made to be durable and long-lasting. What's more is, if you did so happen to loose your kooshoo hair tie, you can feel better knowing it won't take hundreds of years to break down.
